What visual art covers
Visual art education develops both making and seeing: the skills to create (drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital design) and the ability to interpret and respond to art. The four artistic processes
Modern arts standards frame every discipline around four processes:

How it's measured
Arts assessment is largely portfolio- and performance-based — students show growth through a body of work. AP Art & Design is assessed entirely through a submitted portfolio rather than a written exam.
