What is a P-TECH Schools?
P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) is a specific early-college model partnering a public high school, a college, and an employer. Over a six-year (grades 9–14) program, students earn a high school diploma and a no-cost, industry-recognized associate degree in a STEM or career field, plus real work-based learning (mentors, internships, job shadowing). P-TECH is open-enrollment (no academic screening) and began with IBM in Brooklyn in 2011.

P-TECH launched in 2011 as a partnership among IBM, the New York City schools, and CUNY, and spread to hundreds of schools across many US states and other countries — a durable model directly linking underserved students to college and career.
