What it is
Creative writing is the craft of original writing — fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting. It develops voice, technique, and the discipline to produce and revise work, through intensive practice and workshop critique.
Honest reality: making a living purely from creative writing is competitive and uncertain. Most writers combine writing with related work (teaching, editing, content, communications). The craft, however, transfers well to many writing-centered careers.
