Funding

How Nebraska funds schools

Nebraska distributes equalization aid through TEEOSA (the Tax Equity and Educational Opportunities Support Act), which calculates each district’s needs and subtracts local resources so state aid fills the gap. Since LB 583 (2023) every district also receives $1,500 per student in foundation aid plus special-education reimbursement, so even property-wealthy districts draw some state support.

District-level per-pupil spending and the local/state/federal revenue split for Northwest Public Schools are published in the federal school-finance files — see the full-data links below for the current figures.

Accountability

Report card & state results

Nebraska’s accountability system, AQuESTT (Accountability for a Quality Education System, Today and Tomorrow), classifies districts across evidence-based analysis, assessment, growth, graduation and college-and-career readiness. Look up Northwest Public Schools on the Nebraska Education Profile.

Accreditation

Accreditation status

Nebraska accredits public districts through the state’s own Rule 10 standards, administered by the Nebraska Department of Education, rather than a private accreditor. See the Nebraska Department of Education for a district’s accreditation status.
